Introduction to Tapestry Weaving Workshop: Sunday November 17th, 10:30 am - 2 pm
Let’s weave!
In this 3.5 hour workshop, you will learn the basics of frame loom weaving from warping the loom, to drafting a design, and to learning basic tapestry techniques. I will work alongside you, helping you develop your piece through every step of the textile-making process. You will leave this class with a small wall-hanging or “woven drawing”. All materials will be provided and you will have the option of being able to take home your frame loom with you.
There is an indigo workshop in the studio that same day from 4pm - 7pm, where you will learn how to dye yarn and fabric blue with natural indigo pigments. Students who wish to take part in both workshops can use the code “November10” to receive 10% off at registration.
Food will not be provided, though refreshments will be served.
This class will take place in my Bushwick, Brooklyn, Studio.
Additional information will be sent to you via email once you are registered for the course.
Price: $100 (without loom to take home with you), $165 (with loom, shuttle stick, comb, and tapestry needle included to take home with you)
