I'm excited to announce my solo show, "A Woven Year", opening Wednesday, May 21st at Dot & Grid Gallery in Brooklyn, NY. This collection of 365 woven works created over the 2023 calendar year, reflects my daily engagement with the frame loom. Through an intuitive process of “drawing with thread,” the loom became both a tool for exploration and a space for reflection. I pushed plain weave—the simplest yet most fundamental structure—into new territory. Using naturally dyed fibers and found materials, I wove together colors and textures inspired by the shifting landscapes around me, capturing moments of place, time, and memory.
Join me for the opening reception 5/21 from 6PM–10 PM, and experience this yearlong journey in full. The show runs until June 1, concluding with a closing reception from 5PM– 10PM. Additional programming, such as workshops and a Q and A, will offer more insight into the project — view details and register at the following link. ‘
This will be the first and only time these 365 woven works will be exhibited together in person—a unique opportunity to experience the full scope of this yearlong journey. All pieces will be available for purchase. Thank you for your support. I can't wait to share it with you! This show marks the soft launch of Dot & Grid Gallery Eric and Jessie’s latest collaboration—a new artist-run space dedicated to fostering connections, expanding creative networks, and building community through artist-initiated exhibitions and projects. We’re excited to welcome you into the space.
