FREE INTRO TO WEAVING CLASS FOR KICKSTARTER BACKERS - Saturday, May 24th 12pm - 3pm
Saturday, May 24th 12pm - 3.5pm
Let’s weave!
In this 3 hour workshop, you will learn the basics of frame loom weaving from warping the loom, to drafting a design, and to learning basic tapestry techniques. I will work alongside you, helping you develop your piece through every step of the textile-making process. We will explore structure, image building and materiality- students will have the option to incorporate a variety of fibers and intentionally sourced objects such as dried botanicals, shells, stones, and beads as part of a process I call “tactile collage”.
You will leave this class with a small wall-hanging or “woven drawing”. All materials will be provided and looms that you can take home with you will be available for purchase.
This class will take place in my Bushwick, Brooklyn, Studio and is a special event offered in conjunction with the opening of my show “A Woven Year”.
Please note, this class is reserved for the Kickstarter Backers who supported the A Woven Year Project in 2023 and is available on a first come, first serve basis.
