Introduction to Tapestry Weaving Workshop - Live Online Class

$50.00

Let’s weave!

In this 3.5 hour workshop, you will learn the basics of frame loom weaving from warping the loom, to drafting a design, and to learning basic tapestry techniques. I will work alongside you, helping you develop your piece through every step of the textile-making process. You will leave this class with a small wall-hanging or “woven drawing”. An introduction on the history of weaving will be presented and I will share a bit about my daily weaving practice. A PDF with resources and instructions will be sent after the workshop and a Zoom recording will also be available for your review.

In this online workshop, materials will not be provided but a list will be sent a month before the workshop date, which will include instructions on where to purchase. A zoom link will be sent to the student upon registration.

Important info:

This material is intended for personal use only and should not be sold, distributed, or used for commercial purposes, including your own teaching. Thank you!

Please inform me ahead of time at hi@jessiemordineyoung.com if you are unable to attend the class. Ticket sales are final, but can be transferred to another participant or applied as a future credit. I reserve the right to cancel the workshop 72 hours in advance due to low attendance or any extenuating circumstances.

Weaving is a tactile and sensory experience; students are encouraged to use class time to play and experiment on their looms; to explore material, texture, color and pattern in an effort to develop their own visual language.

I hope to see you at a future workshop!
